The construction sector is at the heart of Europe's green transition, but achieving this transformation requires more than new technologies—it requires new skills.

The Green Circle project has officially started its journey to identify, develop, test, and assess innovative micro-credentials that will help equip the construction workforce with the competencies needed for a more sustainable future.

Bringing together vocational education providers, universities, construction companies, industry associations, and research organisations from across Europe, Green Circle aims to create an ecosystem that connects learners, employers, and training providers through flexible and recognised learning opportunities.

🚧 Key project activities include:

✅ Mapping existing micro-credential practices in the construction sector

✅ Developing a framework for the implementation of micro-credentials

✅ Creating a catalogue of green skills for the construction industry

✅ Designing innovative assessment approaches

✅ Developing and piloting 8 micro-credentials across Germany, Greece, Portugal, and Spain

The project officially kicked off with its first transnational meeting in Braga, Portugal, where partners came together to shape the roadmap for the years ahead and explore innovative sustainable construction practices.

Together, we are laying the foundations for a more skilled, resilient, and sustainable construction sector across Europe. ♻️
