Active Citizens Partnership was founded in 2009 by two people who shared a conviction: that European cooperation should produce real change for local communities.
George Bekiaridis
BSc Informatics · MSc Distance Learning
Director of Active Citizens Partnership. Specialises in the research and development of digital pedagogies and technology-enhanced learning, the recognition of informal learning, teacher and trainer training, and Open Educational Resources.
In recent years his work has focused on integrating Artificial Intelligence into education.

Athanasia Defingou
MSc Rural Planning and Development
Senior manager with over 25 years of experience in non-profit organisations. Brings deep expertise in working with vulnerable groups — leading the Vulnerable Groups Department at a Vocational Training Center for two decades.
Has designed and implemented over 80 European-funded and transnational projects throughout her career.
